Accomodations at Waikiki

Based on a combination of factors (location, reviews, amenities, and, of course, all important *price*) we selected the Best Western Coconut Waikiki as our "home away from home" while in Honolulu.

This 80 room "boutique" hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach, the beachwalk, and about 100,000 souvenir shops. (If we don't bring you back anything, it won't be for lack of opportunity.)

The Die is Cast, the Plans Are Made

Wanting to do something special and memorable on my wonderful wife's 50th birthday, we decided we would plan an epic adventure to Hawaii. Get it, Hawaii Five-Oh? (All epic adventures start with a catchy title!)

Since the plans have finally firmed up a bit, I have decided to start this blog to keep everyone in the loop about our progress. For those friends and family members who might be joining us, here is what the trip is going to look like:

12/17 Depart Phoenix for Honolulu
12/17 - 12/19 Relax and enjoy Waikiki
12/19 Board the NCL Pride of America for a 7-day cruise around the islands
12/26 Return to Waikiki -- the kids fly in from Phoenix
12/26 - 1/1 Stay in Honolulu, explore Oahu
1/1 Return flights to Phoenix for the whole family

See, I told you it was *epic*!
